Studying to be an Electronic Engineer

Before we start to talk about Electronic Engineers, we should clarify that there is a difference between the following

  1. An Electrician
  2. Electrical Engineer
  3. Electronic Engineer
These three jobs are quite different, both the way you become one and what you do as part of your daily business. An Electrician normally does an apprenticeship which last between 3 and 4 years. To be an Electrical Engineer you will need to study after your leaving cert for up to 4 years in a University or an IT (Institute of Technology).
