This week has been a hard one for telcos, eircom announced a redundancy plan, and now 02 (www.o2online.ie), Ireland 2nd largest phone company, has announced their plans to move to outsourcing. 02 says that they aim to have 450 of their 1,600 Irish staff outsourced. This is in it’s network management division. The management has stressed that all workers will be offered a similar position with the outsourcing company. Five companies will be invited to tender for the contract. They are Ericsson, Nokia, Accenture, IBM and Fujitsu .
