Figures released from the Cork based MTB (Masai Barefoot Technology) Ireland Ltd. (www.swissmasai.ie) say that in the last 3 years they have sold over 100,000 of these shoes (see below). Now these aren’t any ordinary shoes, rather they are designed with a rounded sole to take the strain off your legs. They also aid people with back problems and knee problems. Noel May was the Irish entrepreneur who introduced these funky (although I say freaky) shoes, which come from Switzerland and were designed in 1990 by a guy called Karl Müller.
Personally I won’t be buying these any time soon. But keep an eye out for the happy 100k people walking in these things around Ireland.
