News today of a €60 million investment by US biopharmaceutical giant, Gilead Sciences (www.Gilead.com). Gilead Sciences specialise in the manufacturing of drugs for infectious diseases, like HIV & hepatitis. They have plans to move their entire operations to Grange Castle Business Park in Clondalkin, Dublin and with it bringing their total Irish workforce to 160.
Gilead Sciences managed to bring 3 different HIV drugs into a single pill, Atripla, which was launched in July 2006. And has sales over $200 million for the year (effectively half) year 2006.
