Rumours of a $500 million investment by Microsoft have emerged. This project, which will bring an estimated 250 new jobs to Dublin, is reported to be still in the final stages of planning. A final decision is expected later this year for the go ahead.
The plan from Microsoft is to create a massive European data centre in the West of Dublin at Grange Castle. This would be the location for their thousands of servers and new employees to maintain their systems. ‘‘We can confirm that Ireland has been selected as the preferred location for the development of a data centre, which would meet the growing demand for our online services,” Microsoft said in a statement.

When we here more we will bring it to you ASAP !
Edit: Here is another story about Microsoft breaking today, from an Tom Raftery, an Irish blogger. Which details the debate of claim of patent infringement by the open source community.
